First, I would like to say that I am extremely greatful for programs such as this. I would not have had my procedure done without this program. Everyone I spoke with at Colonoscopy Assist were very professional and helpful. Dr. Clemmons was very detailed and spoke with me at great length regarding my symptoms which helped to put me at ease. I enjoyed the atmosphere, as relaxing classical music was playing throughout the office.

The only negative part of my experience, and unfortunately for me, it is a big negative that will likely keep me from having another Colonoscopy, is that my sedation was inadequate. I could hear, see, and feel everything that was going on during the procedure. It was my understanding that conscious sedation meant I would likely not remember or feel anything. Midway through the procedure, I asked for more medication due to being so incredibly uncomfortable. I watched the nurse push a very small amount of clear fluid (I believe it to be normal saline since the syringe that was used to inject my medication had already been removed and replaced with a bigger syringe). I did not feel any better after she pushed this small amount of fluid. For about 3 days following the procedure, the muscles in my back and abdomen hurt from tensing up so hard during the procedure due the the pain . If I ever have another colonoscopy, I will not do it unless the physician offers full sedation.

MG-
I had 2 colonoscopies...the first with general(knocked out),and the second through Dr.Clemmons w/o being knocked out...which came as a shock when I discovered at my visit for the procedures(had EGD as well)that it was to take place outside of a hospital and general wasn't allowed.I had requested general anethesia due to fear of the twilight...I had twilight before with mouth surgery and had read negative things about it during colonoscopy....I feared pain.It wasn't pleasant. When you are knocked out,the experience is TOTALLY different. It was very painful and scary, and I have a high tolerance for pain.I,too, will be under general anesthesia next time!Just make sure that your procedure is in a hospital, and ask for 3 anti-nausea meds if you have a trouble with nausea, etc b/c if not you can wake up terribly nauseous....I learned the hard way.

Done at Metro Atlanta Endoscopy Center - Top Notch all the way! I have BCBS but this was way much less that gambling with a Preventative (paid) and Diagnostic (unpaid). It was Diagnostic, of course, so I won!

I am grateful for being able to get it done. I had to choose between a location in Orlando or Tampa because those were the choices at the time. The facility and staff were clean, friendly and professional with the exception of the physician. He wanted me to make a return visit to Orlando to obtain the results, even though it was a 2.5 hour drive each way. To make a long story short,it took months to obtain a copy of the report and recommendation for future screenings. However the staff at ColonoscopyAssist worked until I had a written report and I'm grateful.
Thank you very much, ColonoscopyAssist.

A great program! I am self pay so I did some on line research, I was a little apprehensive but everyone in the program worked along with me, the response was quick and the phone calls prior to the procedure were helpful and reassuring. Although I had to drive about 2 hours away, it was worth it. Everyone of the staff was nice and friendly. Keep up the good work!

I was apprehensive about an inexpensive colonoscopy, but my Doctor has been suggesting it for 8 years and I am self employed and pay my own insurance so this was very reasonably priced and I am very happy that I took the chance. Dr. Sohn of Sohn Medical Center in Schaumburg IL was so pleasant and so were his staff. I am very pleased..Thank-you.
